Rorting Geelong Minister questioned in Parliament

Liberal Member for Western Victoria, Simon Ramsay, has used Question Time in State Parliament to ask questions of the Corrections Minister, Gayle Tierney, about her involvement in the Labor Red Shirts rorts scandal.

Mr Ramsay asked the Minister, and Member for Western Victoria, if she had instructed her electorate officer Mr Marcus Feaver to work part time in the electorate office and as a Labor Party campaign worker in 2014.

She refused to answer the question.

Ms Tierney also refused to answer Mr Ramsay’s Supplementary Question about whether she signed off on Mr Fevear’s time sheets reported in the Ombudsman Report on Labor Party rorting.

“This is a clear case of guilt and the President of the Legislative Council demanded that Ms Tierney answer the question fully and truthfully in writing within 24 hours.

“The Victorian Ombudsman, Deborah Glass, has reported the rorting activities of Ministers John Eren, Lisa Neville and Tierney and I again call for their sackings due to their theft of taxpayers’ money.

“In a normal workplace, any other employee who stole from their employer would be sacked.  These Ministers from Geelong should be no different,” Mr Ramsay said.
