The Andrews Government has appealed for the High Court to block the Ombudsman’s investigation into the Labor Party’s criminal rorting during the 2014 State Election.
Lara MP John Eren and Bellarine MP Lisa Neville are alleged to have signed up casual employment through their office, but staff instead worked through Labor’s Community Action Network throughout the 2014 campaign.
Comments attributable to Simon Ramsay, Member for Western Victoria:
If these allegations are proven it would be serious corrupt wrongdoing, costing the taxpayers millions of dollars.
The Andrews Government has tried every trick in the book, appealing every court’s decision to stop the Ombudsman Debra Glass from investigating Labor ministers and MPs, including John Eren and Lisa Neville, who are accused of misusing taxpayers’ dollars by electoral fraud.
My hope is that the High Court will throw out the Andrews Government’s appeal, like the Supreme Court did, and justice will prevail on these serious allegations.
