Liberal Member for Western Victoria, Simon Ramsay, in parliament today called for the Minister for Regional Development, Jaala Pulford, to release the business case for the Geelong Convention Centre.
As a supplementary question, Mr Ramsay requested that documents in the land swap negotiations with Deakin University also be released.
Ms Pulford responded that the Andrews Government would not be publicly releasing the business case or any documents associated with the land deals with Deakin University.
“The Andrews Government continues to have the Geelong Community in the dark on any commitment or progress of a Convention Centre.”
Other projects such as the Sky Rig Adventure Park are on hold as the Government continues to delay making a decision on the development.
“We have projects banked up waiting to develop in Geelong and maximise the land on the Eastern foreshore, but the dithering by the Andrews Government is having a serious impact on many other infrastructure projects in the pipeline.”
“The secrecy and lack of transparency by the Labor government on this project continues, and in the next sitting week I will pursue the release of the project documents that are continuously hidden from the Geelong community,” Mr Ramsay said.
